What We're Learning

August 30-31, 2025

This weekend’s Bible Story and Scripture Passage are:
Land, Animals, and People; God Rested; Genesis 1:24-2:3

This month:

  • Our memory verse:
“God saw everything He had made. And it was very good.” Genesis 1:31 NIrV
  • Our key question:
    “Who made everything?”
  • Our bottom line:
    “God made everything.”
  • Our basic truth:
“Jesus wants to be my friend forever.”
  • This month’s songs:
“What God Made” by Orange Kids Music
“Just the Way I Am” by Orange Kids Music
“He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” by Orange Kids Music

This weekend’s Bible Story and Scripture Passage are:
Jonah, Prophet to Nineveh; Jonah

  • The Big Picture Question:
Why do Christians continue to sin?  Christians continue to sin because we still have a sin nature, but when Jesus returns, He will make us sinless like Him
  • Key Passage:
“You must follow the Lord your God and fear him. You must keep his commands and listen to him; you must worship him and remain faithful to him.” – Deuteronomy 13:4 (CSB)
  • Story Point:
God sent Jonah to Nineveh to tell the people to turn from their sinful ways.
  • Christ Connection:
Jonah spent three days in a fish so that the people of Nineveh could hear God’s message, turn from sin, and be saved. Jesus was in the tomb for three days so that we could hear and trust the gospel, turn from sin, and be saved.
  • This week’s songs:
