Thank you for spending a part of your weekend with your Silverdale Family. Last week our pastors challenged us to begin praying about our commitment to Extending The Vision – raising the funds we need to complete Reach 2020. You may have gotten an email this week or may get a letter this coming week that explains where we are and where we need to be. Thank you for your faithful and prayerful support of God’s work here at Silverdale.
Choosing to become a member of the Silverdale family is a big decision and shouldn’t be made on a whim; that’s why we offer Membership 101. Membership 101 is an informal session designed for you to get to know us, how we operate, who the leadership is, what we believe – and why. We’ll serve a light meal, provide child-care, and give you the chance to join us once you are well informed. We believe membership is important because it keeps us accountable to one another, cements our commitment to Christ, and makes a powerful statement in a ‘low-commitment’ culture. The next membership class is coming up on Saturday, February 29, at our North Ooltewah Campus. Register at silverdalebc.com. Today, we welcome these new family members: Stephanie Steinmann / Christy and Russ Swafford / Chad and Rebecca Sylar / Richard, Theresa, Morgan, and Matthew Verner / And Conner and Rylie White.
When you attend Membership 101 or hang around here long enough, you’ll hear that our core values are worship, grow, and serve. One of the ways we worship is by gathering together each week at Silverdale. When we say grow, we often mean in your walk with Christ, and that means digging deep into God’s word. An excellent place to do just that is at the Silverdale Institute. They have several courses coming up and all of them are designed to help you REALLY GROW. They have classes that dive deep into a particular book, teach you how to defend your faith, types specifically for women, and even one that will teach you Hebrew. Go to silverdalebc.com and click Silverdale Institute – just under the connect tab. You’ll be glad you did.
And here is a chance for you to serve – by going ONMISSION through our 2020 Mission Trip Preview. Learn about the upcoming mission trips from people who have been on them before! You also be able to ask questions, get more info, learn about funding, and connect with this year’s leader. It’s happening right now. If you are at St. Elmo or North Ooltewah head to the Atrium. If you’re at Bonny Oaks, head to the Silverdale room. You can also connect online anytime on the missions page of silverdalebc.com.
Explore hunting and fishing vendors, connect with others who love the same outdoor fun you, and chow down on authentic wild game. The Silverdale Wild Game Dinner returns on February 8 at Bonny Oaks, North Ooltewah, and Creekside. This year’s speaker is Jimmy Houston, a professional fisherman and TV Host who has been on ESPN, OLN, and NBC Sports. Limited tickets are on sale now in the Atrium.
